Profile & Story

L'Umami is a project of Laurent Montalieu's NW Wine Company, Oregon's first dedicated custom-crush facility, founded in 2003 in the Willamette Valley. The name is a nod to the savory, earthy character of the forest mushrooms that grow around the vineyards, echoed in the wine's flavor.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of plum, bramble, black cherry and pomegranate with subtle oak; a fresh, clean palate of juicy red cherry and red currant, earthy spice, and a mineral, fruit-balanced finish.
