Profile & Story

Oberon was founded in 2005 by the Michael Mondavi family, named for the king of the fairies in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Winemaker Tony Coltrin sources fruit from Los Carneros, where cooling bay fog and a long growing season favor Chardonnay.

Tasting Notes

Balanced fruit with crushed-seashell minerality and lingering acidity; flavors of caramelized pear and Fuji apple with a touch of creme brulee from partial new-oak, sur lie aging.
