Origins: France > Loire > Menetou-Salon; appellation Menetou-Salon; 100% Sauvignon Blanc; fermented and aged in stainless steel; 12.5% ABV; annual production 400 cases (importer's own data - the importer's vintage selector lists 2021 alongside 2024 and 2025). Producer background from the family's own site and their US agents: the Lauverjat family have grown grapes for generations at Sury-en-Vaux, just outside Sancerre, working from an old grain mill, the Moulin des Vrilleres. Christian and Karine Lauverjat farm about 12-13 hectares in Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume and also make this Menetou-Salon; Karine set up a negociant structure under her own name in 2005 to extend the range and handle export, and their son Kevin joined the estate after oenology studies at Beaune. They favour working the soils, grass the rows to prevent erosion, use seaweed preparations to reduce chemical intervention and use no pesticides or herbicides; whites are vinified in thermo-regulated tanks and gently clay-filtered. The Menetou-Salon comes from roughly 25-year-old vines on calcareous Upper Jurassic soils.
