Bricco del Sole is a T. Edward Wines house label made by Tenuta La Morandina in Castiglione Tinella, Piedmont. The Morando family has been in Piedmont for centuries - records tie them to these lands back to the 16th century - and brothers Giulio and Paolo Morando have farmed the estate since 1988, running a benchmark Moscato operation on marl-and-limestone soils. The wine is 100% Moscato d'Asti from an 8-hectare vineyard planted in 1970, in the Asti sub-region. Fermentation is with ambient yeast (unusual for the style) and the wine is disgorged to ensure a fresh and fruity character; elevage in stainless steel. 5.0% ABV, 25 mg/l SO2, total production 6,000 cases.
