Chardonnay from the organically farmed Hawkeye Ranch Vineyard in the Redwood Valley of Mendocino County, made by Patrick Cappiello, the New York sommelier turned California winemaker behind Monte Rio Cellars. The wines are made naturally, with no additives, from organically farmed fruit. For the 2022: 100% Chardonnay; whole-cluster fruit hand harvested directly to the press; fermentation in stainless steel tank with natural yeast; aged in old wood barrels for 5 months, then transferred to stainless steel for 2 months; 350 cases made. The label is an ode to the classic labels of Chablis.
