Profile & Story
Ippolito 1845 is Calabria's oldest winery, based in Cirò Marina on the Ionian coast. Mare Chiaro is made entirely from Greco Bianco grown near the sea, blending grapes picked in two separate harvest passes -- the first for freshness and aromatics, the second for structure -- before four months of aging in steel.
Tasting Notes
Crystalline in the glass, with an intense, persistent aroma of ripe tropical fruit, pear, peach, and white flowers, and a fresh, Mediterranean palate that finishes with a pleasant saline note.
Pairing Recommendation
Excellent with raw fish, pasta, grilled fish, and white meats.
