Profile & Story

Elio Sandri has farmed his family's 7.5-hectare Cascina Disa estate on the Perno cru in Monforte d'Alba since 1981, working the blue-marl hillside with certified organic methods and forgoing sprays or plowing. After a relationship that began when Sandri met importer Neal Rosenthal in 2011, the estate joined Rosenthal Wine Merchant's portfolio; winemaking across the range is traditional and minimal-intervention, with native-yeast fermentation and extended aging.
