Profile & Story
Founded in 1889 by Jean-Baptiste Laherte in Chavot-Courcourt, Maison Laherte Frères is today run by fifth-generation grower Aurélien Laherte, farming parcels across the Côteaux Sud d'Épernay, Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne. Ultradition Extra Brut blends roughly 60% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir from seven villages; about 60% of the base wines are barrel-fermented with partial malolactic conversion, and the cuvée carries around 40% reserve wine before a low, Extra Brut dosage under 5 g/l.
Tasting Notes
White peach, orchard apple and fresh bread-dough aromas lead into a chalky, mineral-driven palate; the mousse is fine and persistent, with a crisp, complex and long finish typical of grower Champagne.
