The Kühn family has farmed in Oestrich-Winkel, Rheingau, since 1786; the estate converted to organic and biodynamic (Demeter) farming in the 2000s and is a member of the VDP. Jacobus, named for the family's 18th-century founder, is the estate's entry-level Gutswein — a dry Riesling blended across the Kühn family's various Rheingau holdings.
