Chateau Carbonnieux, a Cru Classe de Graves estate in Pessac-Leognan farmed by the Perrin family, produces La Croix de Carbonnieux as its second wine from plot selections made in the same style as the grand vin. The red is a Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot blend aged 12 months in Bordeaux barrels.
Tasting Notes
Beautiful ruby color with a nose of red fruit and the pleasant smoky note typical of Leognan wines; slightly less powerful than the grand vin, making it approachable younger.
Pairing Recommendation
Suggested with grilled or roasted red and white meats, beef bourguignon, duck confit, tuna, root vegetables, cheeses and chocolate or red-fruit desserts.
