Profile & Story
Okidaikichi Honten was founded in 1865 in Yabuki, Fukushima Prefecture, and has pioneered a juicier, lower-alcohol style in contrast to the cleaner, lighter sake that became the modern standard. Gakki Masamune Junjo is made from Yamada Nishiki rice milled to 60% with TM-1 yeast, around 13% ABV.
Tasting Notes
A juicy, lush, medium-full body with notes of Muscat grape and honeydew melon, finishing clean with a slight effervescence and bright acidity.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs well with sashimi, sushi, and soy-based dishes, as well as bolder fare like grilled lamb or pork tenderloin.
