Profile & Story

Shelter Winery, founded in 2003 in Kenzingen, Baden, is the work of Hans-Bert Espe and Silke Wolf, who make extraordinarily delicate, fragrant Pinot Noir in a region better known for bigger reds. Rose de Noir is pressed from their Spatburgunder (Pinot Noir).

Tasting Notes

Berryish Pinot fruit with red cherry, gooseberry, and raspberry aromas; a bouquet of wild strawberry, elderberry, currant, and herbal spice sits over a fine, minerally palate with vibrant acidity and an uncompromisingly dry finish.
