Profile & Story

Orange Gold is Gérard Bertrand's tribute to the first orange wines of Georgia some 4,500 years ago, reimagined as a fresh, modern style from the South of France. Made by an ancestral technique, the white grapes are fermented in whole bunches like a red wine; maceration on skins and stalks gives its orange color with golden reflections and a singular tannic grip. It is an organic (AB-certified) blend of seven mainly Mediterranean varieties — Chardonnay, Chenin and Viognier for volume, with Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Muscat for aromatic complexity.

Tasting Notes

The nose is complex, with an explosion of white flowers, candied fruit and white pepper. The palate shows a very flattering aromatic freshness, precise flavors and fine balance, with body and an enveloping texture; it finishes with good length and a gently bitter touch that stimulates the palate.

Pairing Recommendation

A versatile wine of character — perfect for aperitifs and cheese platters, and a good match for spicy food, especially Indian or Asian dishes. Drink at 12°C for freshness and minerality, or 14°C to develop its complexity.
