Antoine-Marie Arena farms the Morta Maio vineyard, a parcel that has belonged to the Arena family for over 400 years and immediately surrounds the family house in Patrimonio; "Morta" is Corsican for myrtle, the shrub dominating the local maquis, and "Maio" means "the eldest." This Vin de France cuvee is 100% Muscat a Petits Grains, hand-harvested and fermented with indigenous yeast in stainless steel — a traditional Corsican Muscat left non mute (no added alcohol), so it retains a normal table-wine strength rather than being fortified. It carries roughly 35g/L residual sugar; around 15% ABV per the label.
