Clos Canarelli's Amphora Rouge is Yves Canarelli's experiment in ancient-style vinification: roughly 80% Niellucciu with Sciaccarellu and a handful of Corsican heirloom varieties, 100% de-stemmed and vinified in amphora (bases lined with beeswax) for 4 to 7 weeks, then aged in stainless tanks and neutral barrel for 7 to 9 months. The wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with no sulfur added at any stage.
Tasting Notes
A heady perfume of wild dark fruits and sun-dried aromatic herbs with black mineral notes; an expansive, mouth-filling palate delivers vivid fruit smoothly — generous and full-bodied with real backbone (per official importer notes).
