Domaine Vico was founded in 1901 in Ponte-Leccia, in the mountainous center of Corsica, with vineyards cultivated above 300 metres elevation on complex soils of schist, basalt, galets roulés, gravel and clay. Manu Venturi's father Jean-Marc acquired the estate in 1987 and rebuilt it over decades; Manu, who studied law, business and sustainable tourism, now runs the domaine as one of France's leading biodynamic producers of native Corsican wines, combining organic and biodynamic farming with permaculture and bee-keeping. 'Forca di Pero' ('the fork of the pear tree' in Corsican) references the various estate plots that make up the blend. The Corse Blanc is 100% Vermentinu from blue schist terroir on south/southeast-facing sites with 30+ year old vines, fermented with indigenous yeast and aged 6 months in concrete eggs.
