Profile & Story
Chateau Maris is a pioneering organic and biodynamic estate in Minervois-La Liviniere, Languedoc, founded by Englishman Robert Eden; home to the world's first hemp-constructed winery and a global leader in regenerative, sustainable viticulture (Ecocert, Biodyvin, and Demeter certified; Europe's first B Corp winery). 'Natural Selection' -- roughly 85% Syrah, 12% Grenache, 3% Carignan -- comes from the hilly, rocky-limestone La Liviniere cru, vinified in concrete and conical oak foudres, then aged in oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
Deep, even red and garnet color with hints of purple; an open, expressive nose of ripe blackberry, pepper, ground herbs, and licorice. Full-bodied and textured with beautifully integrated acidity and soft, ripe, juicy tannins.
