Profile & Story
Kermit Lynch's own-label Côtes du Rhône, produced in collaboration with Demazet Vignobles / Terres d'Avignon -- a growers' cooperative founded in 1929 in Morieres-les-Avignon, just south of Avignon -- under the direction of winemaker Jean-François Pasturel. Much of the fruit comes from growers in Chateauneuf-de-Gadagne, whose stony galets roules soils echo those of nearby Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Each year Kermit and Pasturel taste through roughly two dozen tanks to build the blend, aiming for a classic, versatile, everyday Rhone red; it is vinified with native yeasts in cement vats and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Notes
A Grenache-based blend with Syrah and a touch of Mourvedre and other local grapes. Dark-fruited with fresh acidity and stony tannins; savory, herbal notes from the region's wild garrigue vegetation contrast with chewy, ripe, mouth-filling fruit, closing with impressions of thyme, black cherry, and stone.

A versatile, food-friendly bistro red -- pairs well with roast chicken, charcuterie, or grilled vegetables.
