Profile & Story
Tenuta di Castiglioni has been a cornerstone of the Frescobaldi family's Tuscan winemaking since 1300. The Castiglioni Chianti DOCG is a blend predominantly of Sangiovese with a small amount of Merlot, from vineyards of varying age.
Tasting Notes
Vibrant ruby red; pleasantly fruity with ripe red berries - redcurrant, raspberry, sour cherry and wild strawberry - followed by floral and spicy clove notes; fresh and soft on the palate with a present but never excessive tannic texture.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs with pappardelle in meat sauce, roast chicken, beef strips with vegetables and medium-aged cheeses.
