Profile & Story

Jász Laci is a certified-organic natural winemaker on the volcanic eastern slope of Somló, one of Hungary's most singular wine regions. "Rising Sun" is a field blend of Juhfark, Chardonnay, Olaszrizling, and Pátria — co-planted and co-fermented spontaneously with native yeasts in open vats on the skins, then aged on lees, unfiltered, unfined, and bottled with zero added sulfur. Imported by Palinkerie, a Brooklyn-based importer specializing in Hungarian wine.

Tasting Notes

Amber-hued, with green herbs, baking spices, and marzipan on the nose; ripe golden apple and hay on the palate, earthy and rich with a long, powerful finish (producer tech sheet).
