Jean-Pierre Robinot is one of the Loire's founding natural-wine figures: a former Paris wine-bar owner and wine journalist who returned to the Vallee du Loir to make wine, ageing his bottles in a limestone cellar and working without added sulphur. 'Les Annees Folles' is his petillant naturel rose, made by the methode ancestrale so the fermentation finishes in the bottle, with no disgorgement and no dosage. Parcelle Wine attributes the cuvee to pineau d'Aunis, the local variety that yields bright, peppery reds; other retailer listings describe the blend as pineau d'Aunis with chenin blanc.
