Benedicte Petit and Luc Briand took over the former Richou estate at Moze-sur-Louet, just south of Angers in Anjou, in 2019, farming roughly 30 hectares biodynamically (Demeter and Biodyvin). 'Terre de 3' is chenin blanc assembled from three hand-harvested plots - Grand Vau, Rogeries and Clos des Gabouchons - on the green-grey schist and rhyolite volcanic soils of Anjou Noir. It is aged about 14 months, partly in oak and partly in stainless steel, and bottled as a natural wine with roughly 20 mg/L total sulphites.
Tasting Notes
Retailer notes for the 2023 cite apricot and citrus zest over an Atlantic saltiness, with fresh orchard fruit and delicate floral notes, a saline mid-palate and a long finish driven by mineral grip.
