Clos Fornelli (Josée Vanucci), Corsica. 'La Robe d'Ange' is 100% Sciaccarellu from the è Quercete plot — one of the first 100% Sciaccarellu reds made in Haute-Corse (from 2005). Old, unirrigated vines (yields ≤45 hL/ha); indigenous yeasts, no SO2 at harvest, concrete-vat vinification, three weeks' maceration and 6–10 months' ageing.
Tasting Notes
Light ruby with a delicate, Burgundian hue; intense nose of spice, pepper, rose and red fruit; elegant, juicy, fresh and racy palate with a long finish of maquis and spice. (producer)
