Evangelos Gerovassiliou revived the nearly extinct Malagousia grape by planting it in 1981 on his family's vineyard on the slopes of Epanomi near Thessaloniki; Ktima Gerovassiliou now farms 100 hectares of sustainably certified vines. This single-vineyard Malagousia macerates briefly on its skins for aromatics, ferments mostly in stainless steel with about 20% in seasoned French oak, and matures on its lees for two months with regular stirring. 13.5% ABV, PGI Epanomi.
