Monemvasia Winery was founded in 1997 in Laconia, Peloponnese, by Yorgos and Elli Tsimbidi, reviving local varieties including the historic Malvasia grape; the estate farms over 30 hectares organically and is now also run by the couple's daughters. Voltes Red blends Agiorgitiko and Mavroudi, hand-harvested from vineyards 200m above sea level near Monemvasia and vinified in stainless steel. 12.5% ABV. The name references the winding uphill path (voltes) to the Upper Town of Monemvasia.
