About the Wine
These are the wines that started it all for the Austin Hope label: Rhône varieties from the Hope family’s estate vineyard in the Templeton Gap District. Our Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Rhône-style blends come from the home vineyard where Austin grew up, and where his parents put down roots in Paso Robles. First launched in 2000, these limited release wines helped spur the region’s reputation for world-class Rhône varieties, reflecting the excellence of the Templeton Gap District and the hands-on winegrowing of Austin Hope and his family.
Tasting Notes
Austin Hope Mourvèdre Syrah is our signature twist on a traditional Rhône-style blend, composed of 50% Mourvèdre and 50% Syrah grown at the Hope Family Estate. A wine that draws out the best of both grape varieties, achieving a synergy all its own.
