Profile & Story

Pacherhof is a family-run wine estate in Novacella/Varna, South Tyrol, whose winemaking history predates the founding of the neighboring Neustift monastery in 1142, with the knowledge of how to work the grapes passed down through the generations to today's winemaker, Andreas Huber. The estate's vineyards sit on the western slopes of Neustift and Elvas in the Valle Isarco/Eisacktal at elevations of 620 to 900 meters, where mineral-rich, sandy gravel soils and a climate of warm, sunny days and crisp nights give Pacherhof's wines their typical fruitiness and minerality. This Pinot Grigio, a Südtirol Eisacktaler DOC wine, is aged exclusively in large wooden barrels.

It is an excellent match for dishes with bold flavors, such as Italian osso buco, South Tyrolean Schlutzkrapfen, mushroom dishes, and cheese.
