Presqu'ile Winery is a family-owned winery in the Santa Maria Valley dedicated to crafting cool-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah from organic and sustainably farmed vineyard plots spanning nearly 30 hectares across Santa Barbara County; winemaker Dieter Cronje, with assistant winemaker Mike Chase and consultant Jeremy Seysses of Domaine Dujac, crafts each wine with a minimalist mentality in the cellar, prioritizing terroir reflection, purity, and drinkability. Their 2023 Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir is a blend of 40% North Canyon, 40% Kick On, 12% Full Circle, and 8% Presqu'ile Vineyard fruit grown on sandy loam of the Garey series, sustainably farmed, fermented with native yeast, and aged 11 months in neutral French oak followed by 6 months in stainless steel to 13.5% alcohol; the winery calls 2023 one of the best vintages Santa Barbara County has seen, with an unusually cold, wet start to the year and a long, mild growing season that gave the grapes extra hang time and beautiful concentration, balance, and vibrant acidity.
