Profile & Story
The Xavier Flouret collection brings together eleven wines from winemakers around the world, each bottling celebrating its own origin and maker. The French Blonde Sancerre comes from Domaine La Gemière, founded by the Millet family in 1981 on the slopes of the Loire Valley; today Sébastien and his brother Nicolas Millet carry on the estate, farming 25-year-old vines with a profound respect for the appellation's unique terroir. The wine is 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown on the pebbly "La Caillote" terroir of clay, limestone, and white soil, a site certified to the Highest Environmental Value (HEV3) standard, and is aged in enameled and stainless-steel tanks for five to six months.
Tasting Notes
Sancerres of this style, made from Sauvignon Blanc, are typically pale gold with green highlights, showing citrus and orchard fruit aromas with floral and mineral nuances, and a crisp, fresh palate with bright acidity carrying through to a persistent finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Best with fish and shellfish, and superb with white meats and goat cheese.
