iLauri Bajo Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2022

Profile & Story

The name iLauri recalls the ancient laurel trees (Laurus nobilis) that once covered Loreto Aprutino in Abruzzo. Antonella and Rodrigo Redmont put down roots in their homeland in 2004, planting olive trees and vines, and released their first vintage from the new winery a few years later. Bajo, their Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, is fermented on the skins in temperature-controlled stainless steel for about eight days with periodic pump-overs, then aged six months in oak.

Excellent with grilled and barbecued meats and hearty Italian dishes such as lasagna, as well as aged cheeses.
