Osmote is a low-intervention Finger Lakes winery founded by Ben Riccardi (with his wife Brittnie), who returned to his birthplace to farm the east side of Seneca Lake; the wines are naturally fermented and built around freshness, texture and restraint. 'FLX' is a pet-nat made entirely from Cayuga White, a Cornell-bred hybrid grown almost exclusively in the Finger Lakes. The grapes are pressed gently and fermented naturally with a vineyard pied de cuvee, then bottled to finish fermentation under crown cap to preserve natural carbonation, with no sulfites added at bottling.
Tasting Notes
Pale yellow with a light mousse and fine bubbles. Fresh peach and apple aromas; bright, fruity flavors with a hint of creamy yeast character. Perfectly refreshing - a sparkling expression that could only come from the Finger Lakes.
