Profile & Story
Cantine Iorio is run by brothers Pietro and Luca Iorio, the fourth generation of their family to farm and vinify in Torrecuso, on the slopes of Mount Taburno in Campania's Benevento province. This Aglianico Beneventano is 100% Aglianico grown on clay-limestone soil between 250 and 350 meters, trained on the Guyot system. The grapes macerate at a controlled temperature before undergoing malolactic fermentation, then age eight months in steel prior to bottling.
Tasting Notes
Concentrated ruby red in the glass, with an intense fragrance of ripe red fruit. The palate is dry and soft, with a fairly firm tannic backbone that gives the wine structure and grip.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs well with red meat, roasts, cheese and cured cold cuts.
