Profile & Story
Catch & Release is the Sonoma County project of Beno and Monica, a husband-and-wife team focused on minimal-intervention winemaking with regenerative farming partners. Block Party blends Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer: the Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer come from McFadden Farm in Potter Valley, organically farmed since 1970, while the Riesling is sourced from a Dry Creek Valley site above Lake Sonoma. The Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer are co-fermented on their skins before pressing to neutral oak, while the Riesling is pressed directly before moving to neutral oak for secondary fermentation. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Notes
Pale copper-orange from extended skin contact, with an aromatic, textured nose shaped by co-fermentation on the skins. Dry on the palate, with peach, tropical fruit and floral notes carried by a light, juicy structure.
