Chianti DOCG lies at the historic heart of Tuscan winemaking, spanning the rolling hills between Florence and Siena where Sangiovese has been cultivated for centuries. Grown on the region's classic mix of galestro schist and alberese limestone, Sangiovese ripens under warm days and cool nights that preserve its natural acidity. By regulation, Chianti is built primarily around Sangiovese, often rounded out with small amounts of complementary local red varieties, then aged briefly before release to retain the grape's bright, food-friendly character.
Tasting Notes
Bright ruby red with a garnet edge. The nose offers red cherry, plum and a savory hint of dried herbs, with a faint earthiness typical of the appellation. On the palate it's medium-bodied and dry, with lively acidity, fine-grained tannins and a clean finish of tart red fruit.
