Profile & Story
Goats Do Roam is the playful, Rhone-inspired label from Fairview Wine & Cheese in South Africa's Western Cape, founded by winemaker Charles Back. The name nods to the day a few of the farm's goats wandered loose through the vineyards. This White Blend combines Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Marsanne sourced from Paarl Mountain's sun-drenched, decomposed-granite slopes and dryland vineyards in Darling. The grapes were hand-harvested, destemmed and gently pressed, with only free-run juice used; each variety was fermented separately in stainless steel and aged on its lees before blending and bottling.
Tasting Notes
A vibrant, light green-gold wine with aromas of stone fruit, white blossom and citrus. The palate is fresh and fruit-driven, mixing tropical and citrus flavors with bright acidity that carries through to a clean, mineral finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs beautifully with salads and pasta, especially cream-based seafood dishes or Asian-inspired chicken or tofu.
