Weingut Schloss Lieser was purchased in a state of disrepair in the 1990s by Thomas Haag and his wife Ute. Drawing on his experience at his family's Fritz Haag estate, Thomas rebuilt the once-famous property into one of the leading Riesling estates on the Mosel. The domaine today comprises eight VDP.Grosse Lage vineyards on the region's classic blue slate soils, some with vines up to 110 years old, farmed with natural yield reduction and selective hand-harvesting; all the estate's wines ferment spontaneously with native yeasts in a hundred-year-old vaulted cellar. The SL Feinherb is hand-selected from the estate's own steep sites on the Middle Mosel, made in an off-dry style at 10.5% alcohol.
