Profile & Story
L'Umami is a project of Laurent Montalieu's NW Wine Company, Oregon's largest independent grape grower, founded in 2003 as the state's first dedicated custom-crush facility in the Willamette Valley. The name nods to the umami character often found in the wild mushrooms that grow among the surrounding vineyards. This Pinot Noir is aged nine months in French oak barrels (about 25% new) from a variety of coopers.
Tasting Notes
A light-bodied, lively Pinot Noir with aromas of pomegranate and cranberry alongside earthy, mushroom-inflected notes and red baking spice.
