M. Chapoutier is one of the best-known producers in France's Rhone Valley. Belleruche -- meaning 'beautiful beehive,' a nod to the bees and hives that thrive in the estate's sustainably farmed vineyards -- is Chapoutier's entry point into the region, a blend of roughly 60% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 5% Marselan grown across stony clay, limestone terraces and pebbly alluvial soils.
Tasting Notes
Deep garnet in color, with an intense, fruity nose of blackcurrant and raspberry layered with white pepper; the palate is juicy and powerful, carrying red fruit and roasted notes over silky, delicate tannins.
Pairing Recommendation
Recommended alongside young, milk-fed lamb; best served at 16-18C, with an aging potential of 3-5 years.
