Profile & Story

Sambucese is the private label of Verde Imports, a New York-based importer founded by Charlie Verde, who was born in Sambuca di Sicilia. The wines are produced in Sambuca di Sicilia on the island's southern coast. Lago Arancio, an orange (skin-contact) wine made from Carricante under the Terre Siciliane IGP, is named for the lake below Monte Genuardo near the town.

Tasting Notes

Not overly funky for the style, with subtle notes of bitter orange peel, salty sea air and a nutty finish.
