Bodegas Santiago Ruiz, founded by Santiago Ruiz -- often called the pioneer of commercial Albarino, the first to bottle Galician wines from this variety for sale -- is based in O Rosal, the southernmost sub-zone of Rias Baixas and a founding estate of the DO since 1984. This bottling blends 82% Albarino with small proportions of Loureiro, Caino Blanco, Treixadura and Godello, each variety harvested and vinified separately before blending: Albarino for structure and fruit, Loureiro for herbal aromatics, and the minority grapes for added body and acidity.
