About the Wine
57% Viognier, 30% French Colombard, 13% Chardonnay. “White Number 3” derives its name first and foremost from the three grape blend, but also that it was a part of a three blend trial that we created in the inception of the wine. Each wine was fermented and aged separately, but all in all it is a mix of about 70% neutral oak and 30% stainless steel.
Tasting Notes
Nose (aromas): honeysuckle, dried yellow apple, white tea. Flavor (palate): key lime, honeydew melon, orange marmalade. Another fun example of Venture label experimentation, this is a unique blend of three white grapes that are not classically paired with one another. Its slight effervescence in the glass is a nod to the non traditional and plays well with the array of floral and fruit qualities.
Pairing Notes
Make some pear, goat cheese, and honey crostinis for a beautiful appetizer, or try some fresh seafood such as crab or scallops with a light cream sauce. If you want to go meat, classic grilled chicken or even roasted pork with vegetables would link up quite nicely!
