Brothers Quentin and Alexandre Tellier launched their grower-Champagne project in 2016, farming family vines in Moussy, Pierry and Chavot-Courcourt (Coteaux Sud d'Épernay) organically, hand-harvested and using only free-run juice. “Les Massales” is their flagship, named for the massale-selection vines. 2022 base: 55% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir; fermented and aged 8 months in oak with bâtonnage, then ~30 months on the lees. Extra Brut, 5 g/L dosage.
Tasting Notes
Nose of plum, almond and dried flowers opening to bread-and-butter, baked apple, marzipan and quince; textured and gastronomic in a dry Extra Brut style.
