Profile & Story
Giacomo Bologna inherited the nickname Braida, and in 1967 the family at Rocchetta Tanaro began making Brachetto d'Acqui. The wine is 100 percent Brachetto, fermented at controlled temperature in steel tanks with 36 to 48 hours of maceration on the skins, then passed into pressurised tanks for the prise de mousse.
Tasting Notes
Light ruby red with purple highlights, lively froth and a persistent perlage. Vigorous, fragrant and aromatic with scents of ripe red fruit and withered rose. Sweet, smooth, delicate, sparkling and suave, with a lingering aromatic persistence.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs with strawberries, forest fruits and dried fruit such as walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, pistachios and figs; the traditional pairing is with pastries and cakes, and it is one of the few wines that is a perfect match for chocolate.
