Castello di Verduno stands at the top of the village of Verduno, the northernmost commune of Barolo; the Burlotto family has run it since 1909. Their Barolo Chinato is built on finished Barolo DOCG, 100 percent Nebbiolo, sweetened and fortified and infused with cinchona calisaya bark and other roots and spices of the house recipe.
