Profile & Story

Giulio Cocchi founded his house at Asti in 1891 and is credited as the inventor of the Barolo Chinato recipe. The wine is produced with Barolo DOCG aromatized with cinchona calisaya bark, rhubarb root, gentian flowers and cardamom seeds, extracted by slow maceration at room temperature. Bottled at 16.5 percent alcohol.

Tasting Notes

Characterized by balance and harmony in the perfume, with an immediate pleasant taste and a pleasant aromatic persistence.

Pairing Recommendation

Served at room temperature as an elegant end of the meal or steam heated with orange zest; a particular success supporting the persistent taste of cocoa-rich chocolates.
