Profile & Story

Kofererhof is a historic Valle Isarco estate in Novacella/Varna run by Gunther and Gaby Kerschbaumer, farming just 6 hectares of steep terraced vineyards at 650-800m in the South Tyrolean Alps. This Muller Thurgau, from vines planted in 1990, is hand-picked, fermented with conventional yeasts in stainless steel at 18C for 14 days, and rests on its lees for 6 months before bottling; yields are kept to about 6 tons/hectare.

Tasting Notes

Bright straw yellow with an elegant, aromatic nose of fresh fruit and mountain herbs alternating with floral and citrus notes and a hint of nutmeg. Fresh, lively, slightly aromatic and pleasantly full-bodied on the palate, with a persistently pleasant finish.

Pairing Recommendation

Excellent as an aperitif, and with speck, seafood pasta and rice dishes, and grilled fish.
