Profile & Story
Leonardo Monta founded La Palazzina in 1986 on his family's 17th-century estate in the hills of Roasio, Brusnengo and Sostegno in Alto Piemonte, first bottling in 1999. The Bramaterra DOC blends 80% Nebbiolo with 20% Croatina, Vespolina and Uva Rara from four hectares of mineral-rich volcanic soil at 350m, fermented and macerated in concrete or steel for about three weeks with daily punch-downs, then aged 22-48 months in large Slavonian oak, undergoing natural malolactic the first summer. No additives or corrections; minimal sulfites.
Tasting Notes
Cherry, licorice, mint, thyme and lavender with a dusty top note of white pepper, peppered strawberry, a cool mineral character and a perfume reminiscent of Earl Grey tea.
