Profile & Story
Maculan is the reference house for Torcolato, the passito of the small Breganze DOC at the foot of the Asiago plateau. The wine is 100 percent Vespaiola; the selected bunches are dried for four months to concentrate flavours, then the wine ages one year in French oak barriques. Maculan describes the result as sweet-not-sweet, the acidity holding the sugar in balance.
Tasting Notes
A brilliant gold in colour, with intense aromas of honey, flowers, vanilla and elegant wood spices. Sweet and full-bodied, with excellent balance between acidity and sugar.
Pairing Recommendation
Perfect with pastry or local cakes like fregolota, or with medium or long aged cheeses such as Asiago Stravecchio, or intense blue cheeses.
