Ronco Calino farms organically in Franciacorta, drawing this Saten from the Palazzo, Cima Caprioli, Sottobosco and Cereto vineyards on varied hillside soils of sand, silt, clay and morainic gravel. The wine is 100% Chardonnay, hand-harvested in August, vinified in stainless steel with a portion in French oak, then aged a minimum of 36 months on the lees with a dosage of 1.5 g/L. Alcohol 12.5%.
Tasting Notes
Straw yellow with light green shades and a very fine, continuous perlage. The bouquet opens with orange blossom, mimosa and dried white flowers, Saturn peach, bergamot and orange jam, evolving into wild fennel, resin and ginger spice. Fresh and savory on the palate, with cedar and Pera Coscia pear, a balsamic finish and long persistence.
