Cabreo Il Borgo has been made since 1982 by the Folonari family's Tenute del Cabreo estate in Greve in Chianti, one of the first Super Tuscans on the market; the current release marks the wine's 40th vintage. A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it ages at least 24 months in barrique (30% new) before further bottle refinement, with a shelf life of 20-30 years. 14.5% ABV.
Tasting Notes
Ruby and red-purple in color, with aromas of old red rose, morello cherry and incense. Harmonious and velvety on the palate, with flavors of chocolate, tobacco, vanilla and toasted wood.
